Aida was brilliant

if you are in the unseated terraces you will need cushions ,we bought decent cushions in an ordinary homeware shop better than the crappy ones for sale in the square. drinks and food were available inside at reasonable prices, be prepared for a long show , it finished at 1AM.
Thank you, likeGarda!

Best 25 euro I’ve spent for a long time. The gradinata (cheap seats on stone steps) are all you need to capture the atmosphere and romanticism of this truly unique venue Don’t forget your cushions but if you do you can always hire one for 3 euros. Wine, beer, soft drinks and ice cream all sold by young vendors who come around frequently. Aida was original, visually beguiling even though we knew nothing of the plot. Handy to read a synopsis before the performance. And yes it did finish far too late(sunset circa 9.30) but on a lovely warm evening it did not matter. Be a Roman for an evening!

Amazing… Watched La Traviata!!!!
This is an amazing venue for the arts. A huge “colosseum” in much better shape. Seats like that of football stadiums make the visit comfortable. The arena rents cushions if you need more comfort…

Enjoyed an opera at the arena
The arena is an amazing spectacle and a must see.
Ticket prices for an opera were very reasonable.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience but expect a late night if you plan to stay to the end.
